Garden Work Day

Updated: 5 days ago

On Saturday, Oct. 24, beginning at 9:00 a.m., we will prepare our Atonement Garden for the upcoming winter season.  We will clean out the plots and put down mulch/compost.  The mulch/compost we use is from St. Louis Composting.  They call it "Black Gold."  We have been adding it to our plots every fall.  In enriches and aerates the soil so that we have not needed to add fertilizer to our organic garden.  On Friday, Oct. 9, we dug 150 pounds of sweet potatoes from the three sweet potato plots.  They will be curing for several weeks and then will be donated to TEAM food pantry and other organizations that provide food for the needy.  Thanks to all who rented plots in the garden this growing season and to the students and teachers who helped us dig sweet potatoes on Friday.
