Each Elder Zone contains approximately 50 households.
BOARD OF ELDER GOALS 2009-2010
1. Concentrate on member assimilation, especially new members and inactive members, including a "Meet the Elder" event
2. Conduct two congregational Prayer Vigils.
3. After the new hymnals have been placed in pews, lead the congregation in the purchase of new Bibles for the sanctuary.
The Board of Elders assists the Pastor(s) in all matters pertaining to the spiritual welfare of the congregation, particularly in providing care to those assigned to them; considers complaints and grievances of members of the congregation if Matthew 18:15-16 has been fully observed; makes every effort to induce members who have been negligent in their attendance at services and in the use of the sacraments fully to enjoy the rights and privileges of their membership; assures that all services are conducted in an orderly fashion and in such manner as to foster an attitude conducive to worship among those in attendance; assists the Pastor(s) in arranging for pulpit assistance, guest speakers, in overseeing the assisting minister, crucifer and acolyte programs, and in preparing for special services; oversees the Stephen Ministry program; appoints and supervises an usher staff; be an example of Christian conduct and conversation.
